INTRO

The Premise

​The IoT Implementation for Harsh Temperature Monitoring System is an innovative system that will allow companies to maintain and improve the longevity of their operational equipment, such as concrete crushers. Our product will monitor and alert onsite personnel if components on equipment is operating outside of their desired temperature range by using a temperature sensor to monitor the temperature of the equipment, send this data back to a server to be analyzed and provide real time measurements for operators

Design Approach

An In-Depth Explanation

In order for our design to be successful, a detailed design approach was needed that met the functional and customer requirements shared to us by our industry partner, Software Logistics. The requirements of the device were relayed to our team, to which we devised a strategic design approach before beginning any hardware or software interfacing and fabrication. As we brainstormed ideas on how to meet these requirements, we also came up with ideas to improve the initial design and make it more practical and efficient.

The IoT Implementation for a Harsh Temperature Monitoring System allows for companies to improve the longevity of their equipment and to consistently be aware of the temperature at which their equipment is operating. The device is easy to mount, allows for a quick Bluetooth connection, relatively inexpensive, and can potentially extend the lifetime of a company's operational equipment.
